How we handle your information

Last updated: December 2023

Look, We Get It

Privacy stuff can be boring as watching concrete dry, but it's important. We're architects who work with stone and minerals, not tech giants trying to sell your data. Here's the straight talk about what info we collect and why we actually need it.

What We Collect

When you reach out to us about a project or just wanna chat about sustainable stone architecture, we'll ask for some basic stuff:

  • Contact details - Your name, email, phone number. Pretty standard, right? We need these to actually get back to you.
  • Project info - If you're interested in working together, we'll collect details about what you're looking for. Site conditions, design preferences, that sort of thing.
  • Site data - For geological analysis and mineral integration projects, we might need info about your property location and existing structures.
  • Communication records - Yeah, we keep emails and notes from our conversations. Helps us remember what you actually wanted instead of guessing six months later.

How We Use Your Info

We're not doing anything weird with your data. Promise. Here's what we actually do:

  • Respond to your inquiries (kinda the whole point)
  • Develop and present architectural proposals tailored to your needs
  • Manage ongoing projects and keep you updated on progress
  • Send occasional updates about our work - but only if you've said it's cool
  • Improve our services based on what clients actually need
  • Comply with legal requirements for architectural projects in Canada

Who We Share It With

Short answer: almost nobody. We're not in the business of selling contact lists. However, sometimes we gotta share info with:

  • Project partners - Structural engineers, geological consultants, contractors we work with. They need certain details to do their jobs properly.
  • Legal folks - If we're legally required to disclose something, we will. But that's rare.
  • Service providers - Like our email hosting or cloud storage. They're bound by their own privacy policies too.

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Period. That's not how we operate.

Cookies & Website Stuff

Our website uses basic cookies to make things work smoothly. Nothing invasive - just stuff that helps the site remember your preferences and load properly. We're not tracking your every move across the internet.

We use analytics to see which pages people visit most (turns out everyone loves the portfolio section). This helps us figure out what content is actually useful versus what's just taking up space.

How Long We Keep Your Data

If we work together on a project, we'll keep your info for as long as legally required - usually around 7 years for architectural records in Canada. That's not us being packrats; it's actually a legal thing.

If you just inquired but didn't end up working with us, we'll hang onto your info for about 2 years in case you change your mind. After that, it gets deleted unless you've asked us to keep in touch.

Your Rights

You've got control over your information. Seriously. Here's what you can do:

  • Access it - Wanna know what info we have? Just ask.
  • Correct it - If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Delete it - Want us to remove your data? We can do that (with some legal exceptions for completed projects).
  • Object to processing - Don't want marketing emails? Easy to opt out.
  • Data portability - Need your info transferred somewhere? We can arrange that.

To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at studio@pyrelithonquinth.info or give us a call.

Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your info. Encrypted connections, secure servers, the works. But let's be real - nothing online is 100% bulletproof. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security (no one honestly can).

International Transfers

We're based in Vancouver, Canada. If you're contacting us from outside Canada, your info will be transferred here and processed under Canadian privacy laws. We think they're pretty solid, but if you've got concerns about this, reach out before sharing sensitive stuff.

Changes to This Policy

We might update this privacy policy occasionally - usually when laws change or we add new services. We'll post any changes here with an updated date at the top. Major changes? We'll probably send an email if we have your contact info.

Questions?

If something here doesn't make sense or you've got questions about how we handle your privacy, don't hesitate to reach out. We'd rather you ask than worry about it.
